Shawn K. Bell, Senior Counsel
Shawn Bell has been practicing law for more than 35 years. He founded The Bell Firm, P.A. in 2007 and served as its President and Managing Attorney for eighteen years before merging his practice with The Malloy Firm in 2026. Shawn is a native of Lewiston, Maine, having attended local grammar and high schools.
Shawn graduated valedictorian from St. Dominic Regional High School in 1984. He subsequently attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1988 (Political Science major; Spanish minor). Following his years at Bowdoin, Shawn attended the University of Maine School of Law in Portland, Maine and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991. He is a past Editor of the Maine Law Review. As an Editor of the Maine Law Review, Attorney Bell published "Drug Testing in the Nonunionized Workplace: Search and Seizure, Procedural Due Process, and Maine's Drug-Testing Statute."
After attending law school, Shawn returned to his hometown of Lewiston, Maine where he currently resides with his wife and children. Shawn’s family has been in Lewiston for nearly a century, starting with his grandparents who worked in the shoe mills during Lewiston's manufacturing boom. As a local resident, Shawn has developed long-standing relationships with a number of successful businesses and has participated in numerous development projects designed to develop the cities of Lewiston/Auburn, increase their tax base, and benefit all citizens of the community.
Shawn is a Member of the Maine Bar Association, United States Tax Court, and United States District Court. Attorney Bell has been awarded an AV Rating in Martindale-Hubbell, a noted legal publication. The AV Rating identifies an attorney with very high to preeminent legal ability with the highest professional and ethical standards.
